Myhelan Artists' Network
Come enjoy some artistic camaradarie!
The Myhelan Artists' Network (MAN) meets monthly at Myhelan Cultural Arts Center, 18 Schooley's Mountain Road, Long Valley.
Meetings are the third Wednesday of the month, unless decided otherwise. 7:30 - 9:30 PM. New artists are always welcome. Please bring one or two pieces of recent or representative work to share with the group -- although you are welcome to come with or without work to share. We divide our time between sharing and general announcements.
STATEMENT: In keeping with the overall inclusive nature of Myhelan, the Artists' Network is about bringing together people who want to be encouraged and to encourage others in their artistic pursuits; it is for artists at different levels of expertise who work in different media; it is for sharing ideas & methods with one another, as well as resource information (shows, art stores, exhibits, gallery opportunities, etc.) For those who are wanting critiques of their work, this can be a forum for that, as well. The meetings are welcoming, informal, informative, laughter-filled, and supportive. The more you attend the meetings, the more you get to know other members. There have been some great friendships that have developed out of this group, and a number of artists' work has really improved over the years as a result of being a member of this group. Each summer, the M.A.N. artists mount an exhibit of their recent work.*
Meetings start at 7:30 PM unless otherwise noted
* NEW POLICY FOR PARTICIPATION IN M.A.N. EXHIBIT: In order to participate in the 2007 M.A.N. show, you must be a dues-paying member of Myhelan and you must have attended a minimum of THREE meetings throughout the year prior to the exhibit. Pieces must have been created in the past two years and never displayed at Myhelan before. 2-D pieces must be properly matted and framed and wired for hanging. There is an entry fee ($25 in past years).
